Concert Jeune Public : L’Histoire de Babar de Francis Poulenc

LE HAVRE

Sans titre-1

Description

In the forest, a little elephant named Babar is born. His mother watches him grow tenderly, until a hunter kills her. Taken in by an old lady, Babar takes refuge in the city. He misses his family and the forest, but one day his two cousins, Arthur and Céleste, show up. The three of them decide to return to the forest. Babar is crowned king and chooses Céleste as his queen. A big party ensues, testifying to their happiness.

Based on the text of Jean de Brunhoff?s Histoire de Babar, le petit éléphant, written in 1931, this melodrama by Francis Poulenc creates a mischievous dialogue between the words and the sound of the piano to entertain young and old alike.

Brilliantly narrated by actress Anne Baquet and performed on piano by Tamayo Ikeda, Grand Prize winner of the Francis Poulenc International Competition, let L?Histoire de Babar move you!
