Description

90 years after the maiden voyage of the famous ocean liner Normandie, the MuMa is reviving the ocean city?s transatlantic memory. In its unique architecture, a luminous figurehead widely open to the harbour entrance, the giants of the seas represented by the artists interact like nowhere else with the landscape and real-life movements of contemporary maritime life.

Co-produced with the Musée d’arts de Nantes and mounted in Le Havre in partnership with French Lines et Compagnies, MuMa’s new exhibition explores plastic works inspired by liners, in a transatlantic focus that crosses between 1913 and 1942 productions from the Old Continent of Europe and those from the new worlds of the Americas.

On view from April 26, 2025 to September 21, 2025 during museum opening hours.
