Sport : Open du Havre
LE HAVRE
Description
From March 16 to 23, the Open du Havre returns for its 35th edition! Organized by the Tennis Club Municipal du Havre, the aim of the tournament is to enable young female hopefuls to accumulate points and climb the world rankings.
This tournament, the oldest of its kind in France, is one of five on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit. It is organized under the supervision of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), which manages professional tennis competitions for women worldwide.
Since 1989, the Open du Havre has welcomed some 1,500 female players from every country and every continent. Many of them never realized their dream of one day treading the courts of Roland Garros. But after the likes of Mauresmo and Bartoli, some of them did.
Spectators can look forward to some great encounters. As history shows, some of these qualifiers could be the champions of tomorrow!
