Théâtre : Chacun sa croix
LE HAVRE
Description
La compagnie du Poulailler presents :
Chacun sa croix by Jean Christophe Barc
“Se mettre au vert” is a fitting expression for this comedy Un Huis clos à la campagne. An uproar in the presbytery: an ex-convict and a mayor plot behind the priest?s back to save their village. A “Don Camillo” in the Jura highlands!
Jean-Christophe Barc wrote the play in 2007, and it’s a success. He proves that you can write a funny comedy while creating real characters. It’s good fun. Jean-Christophe Barc cleverly sketches two topical subjects against a backdrop of political and cultural issues. The Compagnie du Poulailler’s collective staging is driven by the strong, deliberate performance of five committed actors, whose roles are so tightly knit that it’s hard to tell how much of it is composition. It’s also impossible to resist the characters’ mischievous dialogues and adventures.
