Description

The action takes place in a theater. We witness the reunion of two women. Gertrude is a well-known playwright and director, while Hortense is an actress who has enjoyed her heyday. Together, they work on a new play, a masterpiece written by Gertrude. Gertrude will use her intellectual ascendancy to subject Hortense to her authorial whims; Hortense will flaunt her loves and feelings to undermine Gertrude. The technician, witness to the encounter, stoically receives the asides of the two women. In this duel of egos, ferocity and humor intermingle, leaving the audience to wonder which will ultimately dominate the other. Victor Haïm is a man of the theater. He has attended numerous conferences, debates and rehearsals. For this comedy, he drew on his own experience, what he has seen and heard in forty years of practice.
