Visite guidée : Ex-hôpital Allemand

LE HAVRE

Salle d'opération de l'hôpital allemand, Le Havre © Eric Enjalbert

Description

Built in the large cellars of the Polaire and Paillette breweries, this former underground hospital complex played an essential role in the chain of care provided to German troops in the stronghold of Le Havre in 1944. After the Liberation, the hospital was immediately used by the British health services, and later by American troops, whose passage through it still bears witness to its history.
